In the last half-century, curry has become more traditionally English than English breakfast. But until recently, all the available dishes were based on a couple of sauces, alternatively spiced up with chillies or cooled down with yoghurt or cream. The resulting concoctions have only a tangential relationship with food as eaten in India.

Our aim is to convey our passion for Southern Indian cuisine in a way which gives you a perspective on our quest for perfect ingredients, technique, and a deep-seated desire to continue learning and evolving through old traditions and modern presentation. There is a real thirst for home-style Indian cuisine outside of India; we know this because we have seen it and felt it. Our ethos demands that we not only satisfy this need, but that we work to ensure that this is done without compromising on the foundation of this cuisine, and the love of food, and feeding others, which drives it.

We believe very strongly that you can present Indian food any way you want to, but you can't lose the identity of the cuisine. In common with other smart Indian restaurants, food at COCO DINER arrives already plated. If you come out for the evening to converse and have a jolly time, we do not want you to be stretching your arm across people.

Our Biggest Challenge is to project the South Indian food in the right perspective. To use the right technique, right ingredients from the recipe, catering to the real world, without compromising on the foundation of the cuisine. The COCO DINER reflects the positive thoughts and desire to remain connected to the roots. The result is unique blend of ethnic dishes on the menu with a progressive presentation.
